Job Description

  • *Job* : Data Migration Lead
  • *Experience* : 7 to 9 years
  • *Location* : Remote
  • *Key Responsibilities* Lead and support data extraction activities from IBM DB2 database systems. Provide deep source system knowledge during data mapping sessions (field-by-field mapping of objects such as customers, vendors, materials, orders, etc.). Collaborate with SAP functional consultants to understand target field structures and define transformation rules. Participate in data mapping workshops with business users and system integrators. Develop or assist in defining the ETL logic, including selection rules, joins, field-level transformations, and cleansing logic. Work with data architects and ETL developers to support conversion logic validation and testing. Troubleshoot data extraction issues and ensure data completeness and accuracy. Document extraction logic, mapping specs, data quality notes, and change history.
  • *Required Skills and Qualifications* : Strong hands-on experience in IBM DB2 (v10 or higher) � including complex SQL scripting, stored procedures, and performance tuning. Solid understanding of data structures, relationships, and metadata in large ERP environments. Experience in data migration and conversion projects involving SAP (ECC or S/4HANA). Experience working with data mapping, profiling, and cleansing processes. Familiarity with ETL tools (SAP BODS, Informatica, or equivalent) is a plus. Ability to read and interpret technical and functional specifications. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work across business and technical teams.
  • *Preferred Qualifications* : Previous experience in SAP data migration projects (SAP ECC or S/4HANA). Understanding of SAP data objects (e.g., KNA1, LFA1, MARA, BKPF, BSEG, etc.). Exposure to tools like SAP BODS, Syniti ADM, or SAP Migration Cockpit. Knowledge of industry-standard data quality practices.
