Job Description

  • Enterprise data modelling in real client projects (not just training)
  • Understand business context and source system data to design technically robust and scalable data models.
  • Expert in Snowflake SQL including schema design, views, constraints, partitions, clustering, time travel, etc.
  • Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models using appropriate design patterns (dimensional/star, data vault, normalized).
  • Strong understanding of core data warehousing concepts: Dimensions, Facts, Surrogate Keys, Star vs Snowflake Schema, Normalization, SCD Types, Fact grain, ETL vs ELT, Semantic Layers, Data Vault.
  • Translate business KPIs and requirements into Snowflake-ready models, including schema, table, and column-level specifications.
  • Experience designing data models to support Power BI, KPI logic, and data mart readiness.
  • Prepare design documentation clearly outlining data flow, table structures, relationships, data types, constraints, and behaviors.
  • Good understanding of data integration flows to understand how data lands and transforms across layers.
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers to validate model fitment in the overall Data Warehouse architecture (incl. semantic and reporting layers).
  • Exposure to metadata-driven design and data governance frameworks is a plus.
  • Model historical and incremental data handling requirements (e.g., SCDs, audit columns, soft deletes, CDC alignment).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal handholding and translate ambiguous business needs into structured data models.
  • Confidently articulate design rationale in technical walkthroughs and governance/design review sessions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with fluency in English � able to articulate data modelling decisions clearly, collaborate with business, architects and technical teams, and confidently present designs and documentation.
  • Create or review entity-relationship diagrams, data lineage maps, and model architecture visuals using industry tools (e.g., Lucidchart, dbt docs, SQLDBM).
