Overview
The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and detailoriented Data Quality Specialist to join our central Data Governance BusinessasUsual (BAU) team. In this role, you will be instrumental in establishing, maintaining, and improving the quality of our critical data assets across various domains (e.g., Customer, Product, Finance, Inventory). You will work proactively to identify and resolve data quality issues, implement robust data quality controls, and drive a culture of data excellence within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Quality Monitoring & Measurement
- Develop, implement, and maintain data quality metrics, dashboards, and scorecards to monitor the health of critical data elements.
- Regularly profile data to identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and potential quality issues across various source systems.
- Utilize data quality tools to automate checks and generate reports on data quality performance.
- Optimize data quality & data observability performance and scalability to handle large volumes of data.
- Issue Identification & Resolution
- Actively identify, log, track, and manage data quality issues from detection through to resolution.
- Perform root cause analysis to understand why data quality issues occur and recommend sustainable solutions.
- Collaborate with Data Stewards, IT teams, and business stakeholders to implement corrective actions and preventative controls.
- Data Quality Rule & Standard Management
- Work with SMEs and Data Stewards to define, document, and enforce data quality rules and standards within the Business Glossary and Data Catalog.
- Ensure data definitions, formats, and validation criteria are consistently applied across relevant data sets.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data quality policies and procedures.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Enablement
- Serve as a subject matter expert on data quality best practices and tools for various business units.
- Provide guidance and support to Data Stewards and data consumers on understanding and utilizing data quality reports.
- Communicate data quality status, issues, and progress to relevant stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Enterprise Data Governance Framework
- Support the overall Data Governance framework, ensuring data quality initiatives align with broader governance objectives.
- Participate in data governance forums, providing insights on data quality trends and challenges.
- Contribute to training and awareness programs to embed data quality principles across the organization.
Qualifications
- Over 810 years of experience in an insightsdriven business, as a data quality analyst, data governance analyst, data analyst, or in a similar role.
- 5+ years of experience specifically in a data quality, data governance, or data analysis role within a large enterprise, preferably in retail or a similar fastpaced industry.
- Proven experience with data profiling, data cleansing, and data validation techniques.
- Proficiency with SQL for data querying and analysis is essential.
- Experience working with cloud data platforms (e.g., GCP, Azure) and data warehousing concepts.
- Handson experience with Data Quality tools (e.g., Informatica Data Quality, Talend, IBM InfoSphere, Ataccama) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with data governance principles, master data management (MDM) concepts, and data lineage.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fastpaced environment.
