Overview

This role is for highcaliber backend Engineer with deep proficiency in Python and a proven track record of designing and building large systems at speed. This role focuses on implementing realworld services (e.g., Gmail, Jira) as modular APIs using a testdriven approach, with an emphasis on engineering excellence, scalable system design, crisp documentation, and robust database design.

Please note: this is a software engineering role, not one in data annotation, data science, or analytics.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing and Implementing realworld services as modular, productionready APIs
• Creating and maintaining excellent, developerfriendly documentation
• Following a strict Test Driven Development approach — tests first, code second
• Building at maximum velocity without compromising on reliability or maintainability
• Designing and iterating on scalable database schemas for each service integration

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with practical, productiongrade Python development
• Strong understanding of system design principles
• Proven ability to design modular, highperformance APIs and manage the complete API lifecycle
• Handson experience with Test Driven Development (TDD)
• Strong fundamentals in database schema design and data modeling
• Demonstrated ownership of technical decisions, with the ability to explain and justify tradeoffs.
• Excellent technical communication skills — able to explain design, document APIs and collaborate effectively across teams
• Able to work at a rapid pace without sacrificing clarity or correctness
