Project Type: Version Upgrade & Migration Support (OnPrem (Windows Environment)

We are seeking an experienced IBM Infosphere DataStage Consultant to lead and support the upgrade of IBM Infosphere Information Server Enterprise Edition. The consultant will be responsible for endtoend upgrade activities including assessment, upgrade execution, testing, validation, production cutover, documentation, and postupgrade support. This is a businesscritical engagement requiring strong technical expertise and handson experience in enterprisescale DataStage environments.

• Target Version: DataStage 11.7.1.5 / 11.7.1.6 (Fix Pack)
• Deployment Model: OnPremises
• Operating System: Windows Server 2022
• Database: Microsoft SQL Server
• Number of Jobs: Approximately 1,000–2,000
• Business Criticality: High

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessment of the existing DataStage environment
• Perform impact analysis and upgrade readiness evaluation
• Plan and execute version upgrade to target environment
• Perform environment configuration and compatibility checks
• Execute job validation, testing, and performance tuning postupgrade
• Support UAT and production cutover activities
• Ensure minimal downtime and risk mitigation
• Prepare technical documentation, upgrade runbooks, and rollback plans
• Provide postupgrade stabilization and support
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and database teams

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong handson experience with IBM Infosphere DataStage (11.x versions)
• Proven experience in enterpriselevel DataStage upgrade projects
• Expertise in Windows Server environments
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server database integration
• Experience handling large job volumes (1,000+ jobs)
• Understanding of ETL performance optimization and troubleshooting
• Strong documentation and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with fix pack upgrades (11.7.x series)
• Experience in high businesscritical production environments
• Knowledge of backup, rollback, and disaster recovery planning
• IBM certification in DataStage (preferred but not mandatory)
